Team Welfare is a group of Hatfield students who are dedicated to ensuring each and every Hatfielder gets the most out of their time here. We understand that the university experience is different for everyone, and by running drop-in hours, providing free supplies and running a variety of relevant campaigns we aim to make every member of the JCR feel as comfortable a possible.
Jess Clark, JCR Welfare Officer
Shauna Townsend, Assistant Welfare Officer
Drop-in hours are run by the Welfare Officer, Assistant Welfare Officer and Senior Welfare reps. They take place five times a week. Any Hatfielder is welcome to come along to drop-ins for a confidential chat, some supplies or just to grab some food. You don't have to have a particular welfare issue and you're more than welcome to come along for a chat, a rant about life or to get some advice about Hatfield or Durham from our Senior reps. Drop in hour times vary week by week, and they can be found in the Weekly Welfare email and on the Facebook page.
If you can't make it to a drop-in session or would rather remain anonymous, you can drop a message to us using the Anonymous Messenger Service which is checked every 24 hours. This service can be used to have a chat with a welfare rep, to get advice or to make a suggestion. You can also use it to get supplies delivered anonymously and discretely to pigeon holes.
Tea and Toast is run by volunteers from 12-2am every formal night and it's a great place to grab some free food, chill and meet new people. If you're interested in helping run tea and toast you can join the volunteers' Facebook group. You don't have to be a part of the welfare team to become a volunteer.
