Lou Cook-Allen

Welfare Officer

Hiya! I'm Lou, a third-year Primary Education student. My role on the JCR exec is your Welfare Officer. This includes looking after all things student well-being, awareness campaigns, and sexual health supplies.
Other than welfare, my main hobbies are singing in Hatfield Voices, crafting, trips to Seaham to find sea glass on the beach, and in the summer, playing for our Hatfield Rounders Team! I live in college so can always be found around Hatfield- especially at 8 am brekkie!
Welfare is a a safe space for everyone, so please do get in touch with me if you would like to get involved, have any suggestions or questions!

My Role

Drop-In’s

Drop-in hours are a safe space for students to have a confidential* chat with a trained student Welfare Rep. We will always be non-judgemental, non-advisory and friendly - we do genuinely care about you! In other words, we are here to listen to you no matter how big or small your problem may be (or even if you just want to rant), and if you wish, signpost you to relevant support or information.

Supplies

Drop-in hours are also the perfect opportunity for you to obtain lots of free supplies. If there is anything you think that we are missing from the our student supply list don't hesitate in letting us know so we can order it in! (Supply list coming soon!)

Campaigns

Campaigns are all about informing, educating and raising awareness around welfare and community issues. Run by our fantastic campaigns reps, campaigns are a core part of Hatfield life, with campaigns such as 'The 12 Days of Welfmas' and SHAG (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance) being the highlight for many Hatfielders’ experience. Make sure to always keep an eye out as there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in our campaigns!
